Over the past 20 years, I have undertaken my research on the knowledge of the wild mammals of Côte d’Ivoire. As a pioneer I was led to explore the diversity and ecology of rodents, shrews and bats. These studies have allowed the description of both new species of bats and shrews but also of viruses housed by these animals.
Deforestation is one of the major threats in these regions and this has an impact on the survival of bats. These are disappearing at a tremendous rate and this is very worrying because many species are at risk of disappearing anonymously.
